First Home Owners Grant
The First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) was introduced by the Australian Government on 1 July 2000 entitling eligible first home buyers to receive a grant in the sum of $7000. A first home buyer may also be entitled to a concession or exemption for stamp duty on the transfer of a property. The FHOG is not means tested to date and you can purchase a property of any value.
You may also be entitled to the FHOG or a concession or exemption for stamp duty if you are constructing your own home or purchasing a new home.
For more information on the FHOG Scheme and exemptions or concessions on stamp duty contact the Office of State Revenue on Ph: 1300 130 624 or send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or go to the OSR website: www.osr.nsw.gov.au
