Kirstin holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Wills and Estates, together with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Sociology).
Kirstin is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP); that is a member of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
Kirstin commenced her legal career in 2006, working as a paralegal in a general practice, prior to being admitted as a solicitor in 2008.
Following admission, Kirstin practised for 7 years as a general practitioner in regional New South Wales where she practised in criminal law, family law, property law, civil litigation, commercial law and wills and estates (including estate litigation).
In June 2015 Kirstin moved to a renowned Newcastle law firm to practise exclusively in Estate Litigation. During her time in Newcastle Kirstin primarily acted for Plaintiffs in family provision claims in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. She has successfully represented numerous claimants in settlements and proceedings.
Kirstin joined our firm in May 2017 and works in our Estate Litigation team where she acts for both Plaintiffs and Estates in all aspects of estate litigation, including testamentary capacity, family provision claims, and administration suits.
Kirstin has considerable Court experience; having run hearings in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Family Court and Federal Circuit Court.
Kirstin is also a lecturer in Succession for the University of Sydney Law Extension Committee.
